Here are the main activities and services undertaken and developed by the Foundation :
December 2003
HON is the winner of the Best Content in e-Health category of the World Summit Awards, attributed the 12th december, for a comprehensive overview on best practice in e-content and creativity on the Information Society.

Health On the Net (HON) participated to the WSIS (World Summit of the Information Society) from 9th to 13th December associating with the Geneva University Hospitals concerning the ICT4D Platforms projects. HON has been involved in the content aspect of the projects set up by the Geneva University Hospitals, contributing its advanced search-engine technologies and its experience with natural language processing and distributed database access.
Health On the Net Foundation (HON) organized the 8th annual congress of the Society for the Internet in Medicine (SIM), MedNet 2003 (4-7 December 2003) and brought together 180 participants, like researchers, developers and users of applications of the Internet in Medicine, from 29 countries. MedNet 2003 was an official WSIS (World Summit of the Information Society) parallel event.

November 2003
The European WRAPIN project, Worldwide Reliable Online Advice to Patients and Individuals is now officially succesfully completed (31 October 2003). This project has last two years. As a result, a prototype was realized and will be avalaible on the HON website from the second semester 2004. Until that time you can access the WRAPIN website which offers detailed informations about : objectives, outcomes and results of the users evaluation.

HON is invited to TELECOM 2003 (12-18 October 2003), Geneva, Switzerland. Presentation of the HONcode by C. Boyer.

June 2003
HON invited to participate as a speaker about "external assessment" of health related websites at the First International Congress of AFGIS (24-26 June 2003), Berlin, Germany. The topic of the congress was "Health Information on the Internet- better security through better quality".

May 2003
HON has attended "MIE 2003 - Medical Informatics Europe - the new navigators from professionals to patients" (4-7 May 2003), St Malo, France. Presentation by Mélanie Provost, Matthew Perri, Vincent Baujard & Celia Boyer : "Opinions and e-Health Behaviours of Patients and Health Professionals in the U.S.A. and Europe".
HON invited to attend the XIIII National Congress of Hospitals (6-9 May 2003), Valencia, Spain. Presentation by S. G. Vicente, HON Spain : "Hospitals Vestibules in Spain and its accreditation by Seal HONCode".

HON invited to attend the EHealth 2003 Conference (22-23 May 2003), Brussels, Belgium. Presentation by C. Boyer : "Health Information on the Web".

HON participates in the Workshop "Health Online: Public Health approaches to quality assurance and empowerment" - quality management for health related internet information (12 February 2003), Bern, Switzerland. HON has been invited by the SFOPH (Swiss Federal Office of Public Health) as an expert for quality of medical Internet matters.
